The creation of a chapter to be attached to the Lodge of Felicity No 58 was formally petitioned in February 1877 by the Founders Arthur Robert Marten, Felix Sumner Knyvett and William Smithett together with six further companions from the Lodge of Felicity No 58.
The Chapter of Felicity No 58 was consecrated on Friday 27 April, 1877, at the City Masonic Club, 101 Queen Victoria Street, London. The consecrating officer was the Grand Superintendent of Jamaica, Dr Robert Hamilton, and the event was recorded in The Freemason.
The Chapter looks forward to celebrating its sesquicentenary in 2027.
