Our Excellent Companion Gordon William Sinclair Davie MRPharmS passed to the Grand Lodge Above on 5 April 2020. He was 87.

Gordon was initiated into Chelsfield Lodge 6405 in 1955. He was a founder member of four Lodges, joining eleven more and an honorary member of a another 60.

Amongst those was the Lodge of Regularity No 91, which nominated him as a Grand Steward. He was secretary of his Board in 1988 and served Regularity for many years as Secretary.

He was exalted in Hermes Chapter No 77 some 55 years ago, and also joined New Rippon Falls Chapter No 8833. He was installed as Z in December 2014, having joined our Chapter in October 2007.  He was also active in the Mark and RAM.

Gordon was a Past Senior Grand Deacon, PAPGM for West Kent, the 2005  Prestonian lecturer, the 2004 Cornwallis lecturer and the holder of the Invicta Award. He was a Provincial Deputy GDC under then PGM over a pre-division united Province of Kent, the Late Lord Cornwallis, when Deps were forbidden to speak

He was also an active member of the Quatuor Coronati, and was Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 2014. He wrote widely on topics ranging from the Loyal Order of Moose (AQC 119), Mechanics & Masons (AQ 126), The Banner of the Pinkie Hope Lodge  of the Independent United Order of Scottish Mechanics No 29 (AQC 127) to the Evolution of the English Lodge (AQC 128).

Outside masonry he was a retired pharmacist and member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, having qualified in 1955, an RAF man and a member of the Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights.
